The Kubernetes Fundamentals training takes you through everything you need to manage containerized applications with confidence. You will learn how to orchestrate a container management platform originally invented by Google, and discover how Kubernetes has become the de-facto standard for running modern applications at scale.In three days, you will build a solid understanding of the Kubernetes architecture, from installation and setup to the role of the control plane, nodes, and the API. You will learn how to work with essential objects such as Pods, Deployments, ReplicaSets, Services and Ingress, while also exploring namespaces, scheduling and node management. Along the way, you will strengthen your ability to troubleshoot, secure workloads and ensure high availability.
The course combines theoretical lectures with extensive hands-on labs. You will set up your own Kubernetes cluster, deploy and scale applications, manage state with Volumes, Secrets and ConfigMaps, and configure logging, monitoring and security features. You will also gain experience with Helm and Kustomize to package and customize workloads. By actively working with these tools, you develop the practical skills needed to run Kubernetes in production environments and prepare for certification.
The rise of GenAI hasnot left Kubernetes behind. In a module dedicated to GenAI, you will explore K8sGPT, an open-source tool that uses AI to analyze clusters and identify issues. Instead of manually digging through logs and events, you will see how K8sGPT quickly detects problems, explains them in plain language, and suggests practical fixes. You will learn how to assess and apply AI-generated insights while keeping your own expertise in control. By integrating GenAI into your troubleshooting workflow, you will solve issues faster, boost productivity, and gain future-ready skills for an AI-driven IT landscape.
This course is an excellent preparation for the Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) exam.
Developed by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), in collaboration with The Linux Foundation, to help expand the Kubernetes ecosystem through standardized training and certification.
Course outcomes
After this course you will be able to deploy and manage applications on Kubernetes, operate and secure clusters in real-world environments, and confidently continue towards advanced certifications such as CKAD or CKA (after additional training/preparation).

Voorkennis
The following prior knowledge is required: Linux Infrastructure (English). Knowledge about (Docker) containers is preferred, but not necessary.

The size of the group is a maximum of twelve candidates.
Certificaat
After the course you can participate in the Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) exam. The exam fees (€ 435,00) are not included.
