Are you dreaming of a career in the dynamic circus world? Fontys School of Performing and Visual Art is developing a high-quality and innovative study programme for circus artists at HBO (Higher Professional Education) level. This small-scale Academy of Circus & Performance Art will focus on all forms of contemporary circus. Beside a wide variety of circus disciplines, attention is paid to clowning and new techniques as Vertical Dance, Break-Dance, and in view of the current developments, mime, movement, performance and object work. The unique thing about this study programme is the exceptional opportunity to combine circus art with other forms of art, such as drama, fine arts, dance and music, and sport in direct co-operation with the other art disciplines of the Fontys School of Performing and Visual Art and with the Fontys Sports Academy.

General aims of the study program
To produce versatile, highly-skilled circus artists who will find employment as performers and creators in various branches of the professional field of contemporary circus and circus-related performing arts.

• To develop your physical, technical and creative talent to the highest attainable level;
  
• To give individual, distinct and clear-cut shape to the artistic profile of each student.
  
• To stimulate both your attitude and passion for individual and the collective performance work.
  
• To encourage and facilitate from the start of the study an intensive contact with the professional field, so as to confront you with the reality and actuality of the professional practice.
  

Study program content
The program comprises eight components or modules. Each module embraces a certain number of subjects which participate in an integrative and progressive way to the achievement of educational aims. The modules are spread over the four years of study, according to the specific objectives of the different phases.

Opleidingsduur

4 jaar

Kosten

In het hoger onderwijs moet je collegegeld betalen aan de hogeschool of universiteit. Bij een hoger onderwijsinstelling die door de overheid gefinancierd wordt, is het collegegeld voor bepaalde groepen vastgesteld. Naast deze kosten krijg je te maken met schoolkosten, zoals boekenkosten, reiskosten etc. Deze bijdrage verschilt per school.

• Voltijdse opleiding:
  

Volg je een voltijdse opleiding dan bedraagt het collegegeld voor het studiejaar 2023/2024 € 2.314,-

• Deeltijd of duale opleiding:
  

Volg je een deeltijd of duale opleiding dan bedraagt het collegegeld voor het studiejaar 2023/2024 tussen de € 1.377,- en maximaal € 2.314,-. Dit bedrag wordt door de instelling vastgesteld.

Het wettelijk collegegeld wordt jaarlijks geïndexeerd.

Vervolgopleiding

Na deze opleiding kun je doorstromen naar een aansluitende masteropleiding aan een universiteit.
