First prize for Gustavo Otero at the annual DEI PhD Energy Event
09 november 2017
In a hall, filled with 28 anxious PhD candidates, three judges watched and listened to decide who would receive the winning energy related research poster at this annual contest. Professor Paulien Herder (TPM, Delft Energy Initiative); professor Simon Watson (Aerospace Engineering; DUWIND) and associate professor Tamas Keviczky (3mE) selected Gustavo Otero (3ME - Process&Energy) as a winner of the first prize of ? 500. Fahimeh Nafezarefi (Applied Science) won the second and Bernhard Weninger (Applied Science) the third prize. There were nice discussion between the PhD candidates and their peers on energy-related topics, which hopefully will result in more collaboration and an extended network. TU Delft alumni Dolf Gielen, Director Innovation and Technology Centre Bonn at International Renewable Energy Agency IRENA gave an interesting lecture about 'Energy transitions and climate policy: the role of innovation and renewable energy technology'. For all information about the posters and the presentation please go to our website. An e-booklet with all posters will be posted in the 3rd week of November.
